Sophia’s Nursery Reveal
The day I found out I was having a baby girl, I couldn’t stop thinking about her sweet nursery! I love feminine patterns and colors and couldn’t wait to get started! The funny thing is, it was the hardest room I’ve had yet to decorate. I see so many pretty fabrics and wallpapers in my career that I didn’t know how to choose. I decided it was important that the design be able to move with us when we leave Gainesville in a few years. Since I absolutely LOVE wallpaper, I decided it was necessary to frame beautiful wallpaper panels that could travel with us. That helped me make the decision to go with a chinoiserie style. I didn’t want the wallpaper to feel too plain to be framed. Based on the scenes I chose, I knew I wanted to do a soft pink wall color and simple curtains to not distract away from the beautiful wallpaper panels. For her changing table I wanted to go with a piece of quality furniture that would last and not feel too “child-like” when we’re ready to move her into a “big girl” room. This chest, from Modern History, would work in her room, dining room or at the end of a hallway in a future home. It’s very versatile. Now that we’ve added a baby to the nursery, it definitely feels complete :)
